Dataiku Human Rights Policy

1 – Purpose

At the core of Dataiku’s mission is the empowerment of people. We believe that respect for human rights and treating everyone with dignity are key foundations for the well-being and development of individuals. As a global technology company, we believe we have a strong responsibility to fulfill this mission, and we aspire to meet the highest standards of respect toward human rights throughout our activities. In addition, we are convinced by the role technology can play in empowering and connecting people. We are actively engaged in collaborating with our customers, employees, business partners, and community on topics related to human rights, empowering people, and promoting initiatives helpful to the environment.

Our adherence to the United Nations Global Compact and its 10 principles illustrates our respect for, defense, and protection of human rights, contained in the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization (ILO)’s 8 fundamental conventions, and its Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. The approach laid out in this policy is based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We seek to remedy any known adverse impacts, track and measure our progress in doing so, and report our findings. We aim for higher standards where national law and international human rights standards may differ. When they may be in conflict, we respect national law while respecting principles of human rights.

All employees at Dataiku are provided with this policy and are educated on its core principles.

2 – Policy

We are committed to continuous benchmarking of our progress towards integrating respect for human rights into our general operations and supply chain. We work hard to support this commitment in the technology and products we produce, in the services we deliver, in how we behave individually and collectively as a company, and in how we treat our employees, clients, business partners, and suppliers.

Specifically, we:
Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Engage with our customers, business partners, and employees by providing them with resources to use and develop AI responsibly.
Evaluate supplier activities using a self-assessment questionnaire to ensure compliance with the highest standards within our supply chain. We may choose to refuse to do business with suppliers unwilling to meet our standards.
Provide access to grievance mechanisms allowing Dataiku employees to raise concerns, which may lead to investigation and potential action when necessary.
Advance our human rights practices through a journey of continuous improvement supported by a strong education program for employees.
Report on our efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by publishing yearly reports.

3 – Implementation

Dataiku’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy set global expectations for our behaviors, decisions, and actions. They define how we embed integrity, respect, and fairness into our business operations. Dataiku is committed to operating at the highest standards of ethical business conduct, and Dataiku’s employees, customers, and business partners all play a part in making that happen.
Dataiku supplements its Code of Conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy with the following policies/initiatives:

  • Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy — We prohibit harassment, discrimination, violence, and retaliation of any kind. There is zero tolerance for any behaviors motivated by prejudice.
  • Human Rights Policy — We take measures to take care of our employees’ health and safety, labor rights, and provide learning and development opportunities.
  • We support companies in developing the responsible use of AI through tooling, training, and dedicated engagements.
  • Sustainable Supplier Policy — We apply standards to our supply chain to ensure that business is conducted in an ethical manner, which includes ensuring that working conditions are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible. The Sustainable Supplier Policy outlines labor standards including: freely chosen employment, a prohibition on child labor, working hour limitations, humane treatment, appropriate wages and benefits, non-discrimination, and the freedom of association.
