What We Stand For

The mission of AspirASIAN is to provide an inclusive and safe space to acknowledge and celebrate the diverse set of cultures and experiences within the Asian community here at Dataiku. The Asian community spans globally across members who remain living and working across the continent (South, East, West, Central, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands) and members who are part of the vast diaspora around the world. AspirASIAN aims to foster a sense of community by bridging connections with allies, current ERGs, and Dataiku as a whole to build awareness and an open-minded community.

Meet Some Members of Our Team

Mandy

Mandy is a seasoned product (ux/ui) designer based out of Paris, belonging to the UX Design team in Dataiku, and working primarily with the Business Solutions team. When she’s not passionately empathizing to understand the needs of the end user while working with data scientists–like Li-Heng, her co-lead for AspirAsian EMEA–product managers, and developers, to define, ideate, and design solutions, she is passionate about inclusivity in the workplace, and listening to/advocating for people of disadvantaged groups.

More specifically to AspirAsian, Mandy believes that through educating people on the struggles and cultural boundaries that Asian people may face in the Western workplace, it can help foster a safer, more respectful environment where anyone can thrive and succeed through their own prowess and the quality of their work, even if they may not have the loudest voice in the room. She hopes to create a community through AspirAsian EMEA where members (anyone can join–you do not to have to be of Asian descent) can feel comfortable in voicing their needs, concerns, achievements, and goals, as we all move forward together to create a better Dataiku for everyone.

Focus Areas

Education: We create events that showcase awareness around the Asian community

Policy Improvement: We conduct an inclusive review of policies and programs

Professional Development: We create initiatives that allow those within the Asian community to upskill and advance themselves

Increase Representation: We offer resources and partnership to the Talent Acquisition Team to increase representation of the Asian community
