The Challenge

As a non-bank lender in a competitive market, Wisr must deliver fast, fair, and consistent lending decisions. Before Dataiku, any loan falling outside standard criteria required intensive manual review from brokers, business development managers (BDMs), and senior assessors — consuming expert time and creating bottlenecks. Strict regulations made consistency essential.

As volume increased, experts assessed cases without centralized access to prior decisions, slowing reviews and reducing consistency. Wisr needed to streamline reviews to handle growth while ensuring quality, fairness, and compliance.

The Vision

Wisr aimed to build an AI-driven decision support workflow to give BDMs instant clarity on a case’s likelihood to progress and ensure senior assessors only step in when deeper expertise is truly needed. They required one environment where technical and non-technical teams could work from the same information to improve operational efficiency and accelerate workflow adoption.

Decision turnaround times have improved from days to minutes, enhancing broker satisfaction and strengthening relationships in a highly competitive market. From an ROI perspective, the efficiency gains mean we can process more quality applications without increasing headcount, while improving conversion rates by focusing senior resources on higher-potential deals.

— Alex Maizy, Head of Lending Products & Credit Risk, Wisr Finance

The Execution

Using Dataiku, The Universal AI Platform™, Wisr built an AI agent that turns fragmented historical insights into a knowledge base. Faster turnaround times have strengthened broker relationships and improved scalability.

By empowering BDMs to pre-assess exception requests using AI, Wisr filters out low-probability applications. The AI agent provides recommendations, approval-likelihood estimates, and next-step guidance — enabling faster, more consistent decisions. With Dataiku, Wisr delivers faster, more accurate credit decisions at lower operational cost while strengthening risk management and regulatory confidence.

What’s ahead? Wisr plans to extend this agentic approach across the lending journey, using Dataiku to scale AI across the full lifecycle.
