A look into how the R&D team works at Dataiku and what makes it special. TLDR: We prioritize quality of product and people's lives over deadlines.

Dataiku’s story began in Paris in 2013 with a forward-thinking team of four entrepreneurs convinced that in order to succeed in the world’s rapidly evolving ecosystem, organizations — no matter their industry or size — must use data to continuously innovate. Our CEO Florian Douetteau and our CTO Clément Stenac, both co-founders, are experienced developers who believe great products solve complex problems.

At Dataiku, everyone puts the product first. Engineers, designers, and QA teams work together toward the best outcome for users, fostering collaboration, quality, and healthy teams over siloed priorities.
Our software engineers (split into eight teams with dedicated scopes like ML, data viz, architecture, etc.), software engineers in test, product managers, and UX designers work together to build the platform for AI success.
Our field engineers, architects, and technical support engineers — with the support of sales and customer success teams — help customers from all around the world, whether it’s with installation, training, or answering day-to-day questions.
Research scientists from The Lab investigate emerging AI & ML topics, build prototypes, write publications, and help prepare the future of our products. The Incubator team unveils new usages and explores promising product ideas.
You can think of our product as a control room for the more than 30 open-source tools with which the platform integrates. Most of our in-house plugins are also open source (Apache License). In 2025, Dataiku established its own Open Source Office, called 575 Lab. It is the labs mission to enhance responsible use of AI through open source.

Dataikers share a common conviction that no universal product, nor healthy teams, can be built without the strength of diverse point of views, social origins, gender, experiences and cultures. We all continuously work on building a diverse and inclusive work environment where all Dataikers feel free to be their true selves (ie: implementing ERG groups, nominating an employee-led DEI committee, and supporting events such as The Grace Hopper Celebration).
"When we see our uniqueness as a virtue, only then will we find peace."

At Dataiku, we prioritize people and product quality over arbitrary deadlines. By embracing flexibility, continuous learning, and adaptability, teams can do their best work and create lasting impact.
Need time off, remote work flexibility, or parental leave? We trust people to find the balance that works best for them. We also offer Ikig.AI days so employees can contribute to causes they care about.
We focus on outcomes, not arbitrary deadlines. Teams own their timelines and have the flexibility to adjust plans when it’s the right decision for customers and the product.
Learning happens every day through collaboration, knowledge sharing, workshops, and discussions. We encourage everyone to explore new ideas, develop new skills, and learn from one another.
Hackaiku, our annual innovation week, gives teams the freedom to pursue any idea. Projects have ranged from rebuilding Jenkins pipelines and creating a VS Code extension for Dataiku to developing tools that detect and prevent common ML pipeline errors.
We’ve built our own way of working, inspired by agile principles and years of experience. Teams share a common framework while retaining the flexibility to adapt processes to their needs.
We believe the best ideas emerge when people can move beyond traditional boundaries. Engineers are encouraged to explore different technologies, contribute across projects, and collaborate across disciplines.
Engineers are trusted to make decisions, experiment, and shape both how we build and what we build. Everyone has the opportunity to influence the product and make a meaningful impact.
